Trick Daddy Writing Autobiography

Rapper TRICK DADDY is to add author to his list of achievements with the release of an autobiography.
The 33-year-old hip-hop star and Dunk Ryder Record label CEO - real name Maurice Young - is in the midst of collating all his life experiences into the tome, which he is currently trying to secure a distributing deal for.
The as-yet-untitled book will detail his transition from his upbringing in the ghettos of Miami, Florida through to his successful recording career.
And Trick Daddy promises fans it will be something to look forward to when it is released later this year (08).
He tells AllHipHop.com, "The book is amazing already. I have a writer, I have a agent already shopping the book, and actually, I think we'll have a book deal by next week."

Oprah Named Most Powerful Celebrity

For the second straight year, Oprah Winfrey has been named the most powerful celebrity in the world, according to the 2008 Forbes Celebrity 100 Power List released on Wednesday (June 11).

It's the fifth time Winfrey has made it to the top of the list, which is "a power ranking based on both earnings and fame", and measures internet and press coverage, mentions on televison and radio and magazine covers.

Winfrey, who made an estimated US$275 million in the past 12 months, beat golfer Tiger Woods who came in at number 2, Angelina Jolie at number 3 and David Beckham featuring at number 5, due to the coverage he received for moving to the USA.

'Harry Potter' author J.K. Rowling topped the list as the biggest earner in the past 12-months after making US$300 million, but she doesn't feature in the media spotlight as heavily.

New to the list this year is rock band The Police who reformed for a world tour, 'The Daily Show' host Jon Stewart, movie and televison actor Steve Carell and MTV reality star Lauren Conrad.

4 Non Blondes howled their way onto the charts in 1993 with "What's Up?" and then vanished without a whispering. Formed in 1989 with Linda Perry (vocals), Shaunna Hall (guitar), Christa Hillhouse (bass), and Wanda Day (drums), 4 Non Blondes had no problems attracting major labels based on live shows and local radio support from KUSF, merely the labels didn't know how to market them. After Day was replaced by Dawn Richardson, the group was eventually sign-language to Interscope Records and released Larger, Better, Faster, More? in 1992. Although Hall contributed guitar tracks and some songs, she left ahead the album was released (replaced by Roger Rocha for the circuit). Dominated by Perry's high-pitched telling, "What's Up?" was slow added to modernistic tilt stations and then crossed over into the mainstream, peaking at identification number 11 on the Billboard Top cc. NEW YORK -- Death Cab for Cutie, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, Panic at the Disco, Joss Stone, Lupe Fiasco and Dashboard Confessional are among the top names joining headliners R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots at the 10th Voodoo Experience, to be held Oct. 24-26 at New Orleans' City Park.
The event will also feature performances by DeVotchKa, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Cold War Kids, Ghostland Observatory, Joseph Arthur, Old 97's, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, the reunited Shudder to Think, the Gutter Twins, Thievery Corporation, Tokyo Police Club and Man Man.
Among the dozens of local and/or nonrock acts set to appear the Neville Brothers (making their first appearance at Voodoo Experience), the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Irving Mayfield's New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, the New Orleans Bingo! Show, Ozomatli with Chali 2na, the Blind Boys of Alabama, Kermit Ruffins, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, the Iguanas, Bonerama, Marc Broussard and King Britt, the latter staging a tribute to local legend Sister Gertrude Morgan.
Weekend passes priced at $115 go on sale Monday. Three-day VIP passes will also available for $450.

Born to Danish painter Berta Moltke and songwriter and Billboard music editor Paul Sécon, rapper Lucas began his melodic calling inauspiciously with the 1990 Uptown album To Rap My World Around You. Unsatisfied with the label's marketing of his music as teen-idol menu for jejune girls and unwelcome after Uptown turned its attention to producing R&B aimed at the adolescent market place, Lucas left the label and studied philosophy and originative writing at New York University and traveled in Europe to endanger himself to other cultures.
